Did you know that investing in experiences delivers ‘enduring happiness’ as you’re able to break out from your everyday routine and try something new when you travel?

With the Festive Season looming, what a golden opportunity for our Tourism Tribe to speak with one voice and inspire consumers – local and international – to invest in memories after a tough year. They deserve it, and so do you!

To help you, we’ve created the #ExperiencesNotThings PR & Social Media campaign and it’s EASY and FREE for you to get involved, brought to you by your raving fans, the South Africa is Travel Ready Collective.

Although we’re suggesting our consumers invest in experiences, we don’t want to deter them from buying those amazing arts and crafts that our communities create. This is a key part of tourism too, so let’s get the word out together that Tourism needs their support.

Here’s 5 things you can do right now to get behind #ExperiencesNotThings:

  1. Add your listing to our #ExperiencesNotThings landing page. Click HERE to access the page and HERE for a tutorial on how to upload your listing*. Note you will have to register a profile to add your listing.
  2. Use the hashtags #ExperiencesNotThings and #SouthAfricaisTravelReady on your social media channels.
  3. Get involved in our #ExperiencesNotThings consumer competition by emailing your interest to [email protected]
  4. Tell us about any special #ExperiencesNotThings moments of connection that guests have enjoyed with you in the past or that your product offers. You could be featured in our PR content. Email [email protected].
  5. Follow our South Africa is Travel Ready social media handles -  FacebookLinkedInInstagram and Twitter -  and share our #ExperiencesNotThings content with your networks.

The campaign will run from November 2020 to January 2021.
